"The Story of the Messiah" Comes to Life in New Six-CD Audio Set and Richly Illustrated Book
Menlo Park, CALIF. (PRWeb) December 4, 2006--The Christmas season is here--time to think about those close to us and what to give as presents. As we run through the paces, purchasing the hottest video game or the token perfume, many of us are asking, "Where did the true meaning of Christmas go?" The answer: Why not give the meaning of Christmas for Christmas?
Sine Ministries has just released "The Story of the Messiah," a 71/2 hour audio program that chronicles the life of Jesus Christ in a unique and potent way. Geared for all ages, this part narrative, part action, and part historical interpretation begins with Maxus, a wise old storyteller, as he explains the story of Christ's life to Andrew, his young friend. "The program moves seamlessly from narrative to story telling, history to action as sequences are accompanied by a beautifully written original music score, sound effects and passionate performances from the program's many actors," says Max Rondoni, author and founder of Sine Ministries, a nonprofit charitable organization. The project took over 18 months to complete.
"This isn't your typical re-telling of Biblical stories. This is an artful weaving of the four gospels of the Old Testament into a single chronology of the life of Christ that is every bit as engaging and entertaining as it is educational and inspirational," says Russell Bond, director and producer of the audio program.
"'The Story of the Messiah' is a wonderful example of how this ancient, beautiful story can be winsomely, accurately and beautifully packaged for our modern generation," says Charles W. Colson, founder of the Prison Fellowship.
Why another telling of this familiar story? Rondoni explains, "Strange as it may seem, there's not much available in the way of a comprehensive, simple to understand interpretation of the Gospel. It's either the Bible re-written, or individual stories taken from the Bible and retold out of context. There are not many programs that tell the whole story of Christ's life in a way that ties it all together, especially one that is geared for all ages."
John Ortberg, pastor of the Menlo Park Presbyterian Church, adds, "The greatest story ever written merits every re-telling. This one has a freshness, creativity, and simplicity that has the power to touch hearts the world over. It will bring joy to the listener, and joy to the One at the center of the story."
Rondoni originally wrote "Story of the Messiah" as an audio program for a younger audience, but it became more than that. "It took on a life of it's own," explains Rondoni "It's expanded to include an heirloom quality book, a series of educational workbooks and even podcasting. Most importantly, it's being adopted by many international groups and is scheduled for translation into over 30 languages. It's already translated into Mandarin, Russian and Romanian."
Rondoni goes on to explain that in the hands of veteran audio producer Russell Bond the story became alive and accessible. "The production aspect of the program added so much emotion and meaning to the original script," Rondoni adds, "it really helps support the true meaning of the words themselves."
